We have a range of classes from the absolute beginnings progressing through to more advanced techniques and projects. 

Not all classes run at any given time.  Currently scheduled sessions are listed beside the description.  If a class that you are interested in does not have a date, please contact the store and let us know you are interested, and we will contact you when it is scheduled.

If you would like to register for a class, contact the store to make registration and payment arrangements.  All classes are $75 for 4 sessions of 2 hours each, unless otherwise noted in the description.

In addition to our scheduled classes, we offer a “drop in” help session every Monday afternoon from 1-3pm.  We can provide assistance with your current project on a first come first serve basis.  More significant problems can be tackled in a private class.  Ask in store for more information.

Beginner Class

Learn how to cast on, cast off,  knit stitch, pearl stitch, all the basics.

Wednesday October 22nd 7pm-9pm 4 weeks

Beyond the Scarf

Know all the basics but can't follow a pattern?  Want to learn other stitches like moss or how to cable?  This is the class for you.

 

Children's Class

Age 10 and up.  A basic beginner class for children.  Yarn and needles will be provided. $50, 1 hour a week for 4 weeks.

 

Lace Knitting

This class features a scarf designed exclusively for The Wool Bin which can also be adapted to a shawl.  This class is for advanced knitters.  Charts will be used.  Purchase of lace knitting needles and yarn required.  COST $95 for 4 sessions.

 

Sampler Afghan

Create a unique personal afghan with sampler pieces, includes the use of cables.

 

Your First Project

 

Knitting a very simple baby sweater.  For the “new” knitter who wants to knit along with other like minded “new” knitters to create a special garment.  Teaches Increases, Decreases, M1, K2 Together.  Let’s learn together!

Finishing Class

Learn how to sew in loose ends, block your pieces, sew a garment together, pick up stitches, sew on buttons and set a zipper.  These topics will be covered in two sessions.  Bring your finished pieces to the 1st class, and by the end of the 2nd you will have a completed garment.

 

Baby Blanket

An all in one blanket (no sewing up) that will take some concentration to achieve the beautiful needlework.  Must be an intermediate knitter.

 

Sock Class

Learn how to produce these beautiful unique works of art.
